Four Ate Five - Surry Hills * recommend*

Is it just me or people are all confused with Four Ate Five name with Art Ate Five? Maybe just me. After a quite search for addresses, I am finally here.
It's always nice to take a slow stroll on the street of Surry Hill. Its street over with decent restaurants, unique cafes and boutiques, record shops, book stores. It's a place mixed with culture, food, art and laughter.

Four Ate Five is on the 485 Crown street in Surry Hills, and quite crow in front of the shops all the time. It's hard to miss.

A bit of queue today, I left my name and decided to take a quick stroll in the neighbourhood. Nice warm day in the middle of this winter just precious! Does this pot of beautiful flower just put smile on your face?

Don't you think Surry Hills just got everything?

Nice decorated restaurant (food)

Book and Film stores (education)

Hand Craft

Of course, and shopping...

Customers from Four Ate Five are very cozy sitting outside of the shop

Before step into the shop and be sitting, I had some window shopping. The brownie looks yummy.

Meringues....yumm!

Cherry muffin

After a short wait, we got our table.
Interior of the store covered with art pieces, warmth and coziness. It is a great place to catch up with your friends, have some girly chitchats, and even a family breakfast.

Four Ate Five was Winner - Best Cafe - Sydney Food Awards 2010

No doubt, I must try coffee here.
Coffee's quite strong here, and surprisingly is very smooth. $4

Breakfast menu is always available, but we decided to try lunch menu today.

warm pulled pork salad w/ crispy noodles, spanish onion, shredded carrot, capsicum, coriander & sweet soy dressing $16

This is no other shop, the potions are generous and precisely measured. I love the tasty thin sliced pork mixed with rocket and other vegetables. This salad is good for meat eaters as well, just enough to stimulate your taste buds. All the flavour compliments very well with each other and balanced.
Creatively, this warm salad has a bit of Asian twist by drizzle of soy sauce and roasted sesame seed on the top to finish it off. Perfecto!

beef burger w/ pickled beetroot, aioli, cheddar, onion relish, lettuce & tomato, chutney, served w/ hand cut chip $17

When it come to burger I am very picky. Four Ate Five use most of sour dough bread, so it’s this burger. Meat patti is very thick and juicy, that’s a plus. The hand cut chip is definitely my favourite, it’s nicely roasted with right seasoning and thyme. I’ve also seen other table ordered housemade sweet potato chips, will definitely try some next time.

Sense of humor from the staff.
