Great Party Starter Takoyaki (Japanese Octopus Ball)

Takoyaki (たこ焼き) is literally fried or grilled octopus. It is a popular ball-shaped Japanese dumpling or more like a savory pancake made of batter and cooked in a special takoyaki pan. It is typically filled with diced or whole baby octopustempura scraps (tenkasu), pickled ginger, and green onion(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Takoyaki

Obviously in modern life, we are way too busy to make a transitional Takoyaki at home. It is nearly impossible. I have learnt this from a friend's party. Great party starter and on BBQ!

What do we need?

- Frozen Takoyaki Ball
- Dry fish flakes
- Japanese Teriyaki sauce
- Japanese mayonnaise

All ingredient can be found in asian stores.

I recommend TEP Takoyaki balls $13.80

and this brand shredded dry fish

1. Heat oven on 180 degree on baking, place all the frozen Takoyaki balls on the pan in the oven for 20 minutes. (I don't normally have time to defrost them, just straight into the oven)
Depending on your oven, don't forget to keep checking whether it's burnt or not. Wait til the Takoyaki balls are cooked inside and crispy outside. Then it's ready to serve.

You can also cook it on your barbeque.

2. Add mayonnaise on the Takoyaki balls

3. Then add terriyaki sauce on

4. At last, add the shredded dry fish on the top to finish this dish

It's crispy outside and soft inside and the fresh octopus gives a more complex tasture to this dish. Yummy!
Try it out now!<3
