Home Thai - Sydney * recommend*

Please do not ask me the question "Do you think Home is better than Chathai?" I can't answer it, because they each offers different flavor and I like them both.
If you have been to Chathai, they're quite modern thai in both visual and taste. Home is very north-east thai food with a lot of herb, homemade sausages and different deserts.

You can find their menu here http://www.homethai.com.au/menu_lunch.php

46. PAD THAI ผัดไท  $11 .90

• VEG $7.90 • MEAT $8.90 • SEAFOOD $11 .90
A traditional Thai wok tossed noodle dish, with rice noodles, prawns or chicken, egg, tofu and tamarind sauce. Served with fresh lemon, peanuts & bean sprouts

We chose grass noodle instead of normal Pad Thai noodle, definitely a different tasture.

16.SOMTUM ส้มตำ $7.90
• THAI ไท • PU ปู • PU PLA RAH ปู ปลาร้า • TUM SUA ตำซั่ว
Green papaya with garlic, chilli, tomato, green been, dried shrimp, and peanut, lime juice, palm sugar with seafood

You can always tell the waitress to make all the dish very Thai for you. Most of thai food in Australia is a bit too sweet to meet satisfaction from its market. If you can handle the spiciness, you can let them know and the chef are more than happy to adjust it accordingly.

25. YUM HUA PLEE ยำหัวปลี $13.90

Banana flower with chicken, prawn, shallot, coriander, onion, dried coconut, cashew nut, fried shallot, chili jam with chef’s dressing.

If you not sure what banana flower is?
Here is a picture for your reference.

Home is one of very few places makes banana flower salad, considering the cost and availability of banana flower. it has a mild sweet taste contrast with strong flavor from the sauce and other ingredient. It's quite an exotic and interest dish.

5. MOO PING หมูปิ้ง (EACH) $2.00

Skewed pork neck marinated in herbs sauce served with chef’s sauce
If you have not tried north-east Thai food, you must try number 10 on the menu.

10. SAI GROOG ISAN ไส้กรอกอีสาน $10.90

A homemade Thai sausage traditionally from eastern part of Thailand grilled and served with fresh ginger and vegetable

As far as I know, there is no booking in Home Thai. So my recommendation will be go there early and get a token number first form the waitress.
