Makanai is a relatively new ramen shop in the heart of Chatswood. It's located directly opposite to the newly finished development. (where library is)
They also have take away stands serving sushi and bentos
All the sushi are using the new wrap. When it was packed, the wrap separates crunchy fresh dry seaweed from sushi itself to prevent sogginess and maintain its freshness. Very smart! If this is your first time, don't forget to ask waitress to show you how to unwrap.
I have tried nearly all the sushi, California roll is my favorite.
Nice open kitchen
Wooden menu, very authentic! Services are very friendly as well.
Clearly a new busting eatery in Chatswood, it's all packed with people.
A men-made bowl wall....would be great if they serve my ramen from the bowls on the wall. Decoration/Functional ^^will be hard to achieve.
Very cold on the night of visit, we decided to pay safe.
Teriyaki Fish Set
This is a well-done dish. Fish was soft and tender, glazed with just right amount of Teriyaki sauce.
Tan-Tan Ramen
I love their spoon, very traditional.
Tan-Tan ramen was very nice and mild in spiciness. You can have your choice of chicken soup, pork soup or miso soup. My pork soup was thick and full of flavor, hundred times better than Ichibanboshi (too salty)
I love their touch of toasted zaffran, give the soup extra smoky twist.
Well presented Makanai Ramen
Hope you enjoyed this post!
