feeling bloated or indigestion? Ladies Welcome

0
Do you feel bloated or indigestion after lunch or meals?
We saw all the TV commercials about 10 days bloating yogurt plan or online vegetable juice recipes (by the way they all taste horrible....specially those green looking ones)......Does it actually work out for you? Is it easy to manage on a daily basis? Personally experiences say NO!

Below is certain products that I found benefit from, hope this will help you to short list your shopping list too.

1. Benefiber  (you can find in most of local supermarket)

You can add this in any drinks once a day. It does help me sometimes with constipation, however, it's not a solution.

2. DHC fiber ( made in Japan)
I have not go back to any other product after I found this fiber. The fiber is extracted from corn and soybeans, comes in a little tube and you can easily pack to your luggage on you holidays or short trips. You can add this in your coffee or tea or even food.

3. Mylanta Antacid Double Strength  (available in all supermarkets)
Rely on it to help ease common heartburn, sour stomach, upset stomach, and uncomfortable gas.

Every time I had issue with my digestion or bloating, I always take one table spoon of Mylanta after each meal for couple of days until I feel stable.
For traveling, there is also tablets available.

4. Yakult <3 (available in all supermarkets)
Yakult is a fermented milk drink that contains a very high concentration of a unique, beneficial bacterium called Lactobacillus casei Shirota strain. (source from www.yakult.com.au)

For my experience, if you often or occasionally have bloating or indigestion, I highly recommend you to take Yakult for good bacteria to form to protect your stomach.
And so far, this has the best taste!

5. Manuka Honey UMF 5+ (available in all health food store)

Manuka honey is a monofloral honey made by bees in New Zealand that frequent the manuka bush, Leptospermum scoparium. Only 10 percent of all Manuka Honey is claimed to have antibacterial properties because of its Non-hydrogen peroxide antibacterial content which is known woldwide as UMF Manuka honey. Manuka Honey should contain at least 70% Manuka pollen count in order to be called Manuka Honey or UMF Manuka Honey.[1]Manuka honey is typically dark in colour with a strong flavour.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manuka_honey)

Every morning, have a cup of warm water with a teaspoon of Manuka Honey. It is a great way to start the day. I have to be honest here, this method has never helped my constipation even though is highly recommended by other people.

6. Inner Health Plus (available in all pharmacies)

My GP(doctor) recommended this and I was also tempted after the TV commercial. This capsule has to be stored in the fridge after open so you can't bring them when you are on holidays. Also it is quite pricey. Other than that, it does work and I was very pleased my inner health has been improved by it.

Alright, this is all I have in store for stomach issues.

Very quickly, my friend asked me what to take during period especially if you experience a period pain?

I highly recommend Nupau. I bought it from Taiwan website and they do ship overseas. (sorry the site it's all in Chinese) Most important thing is it works! It is based on Chinese herbal medication, suitable for women during period or after give birth.
You can fine more information on their official website:

in the Mood For Thai - Parramatta

in the mood for Thai? What a funny name?
We walked pass this corner restaurant and totally attracted by its name and decoration. Immediately the decision is made.

Is it cute to have a swing chair in the shop? No way I am going to miss that....

As you walk in to the big glass door, the interior of the restaurant is very cosy. Their design palette embraced by the solid wooden table, chairs, walls with colorful cushions.

Cute menu design

First stop - basil chili fried with beef
It's a bit saucy than normal dry styled dish. It's very tasty!

BBQ marinated chicken
This is a massive dish and highly recommended. They're mainly use chicken dump stick and thighs parts for this dish. The meat is very tender, juicy and flavoursome.

Home Thai - Sydney * recommend*

0
Please do not ask me the question "Do you think Home is better than Chathai?" I can't answer it, because they each offers different flavor and I like them both.
If you have been to Chathai, they're quite modern thai in both visual and taste. Home is very north-east thai food with a lot of herb, homemade sausages and different deserts.

You can find their menu here http://www.homethai.com.au/menu_lunch.php

46. PAD THAI ผัดไท  $11 .90

• VEG $7.90 • MEAT $8.90 • SEAFOOD $11 .90
A traditional Thai wok tossed noodle dish, with rice noodles, prawns or chicken, egg, tofu and tamarind sauce. Served with fresh lemon, peanuts & bean sprouts

We chose grass noodle instead of normal Pad Thai noodle, definitely a different tasture.

16.SOMTUM ส้มตำ $7.90
• THAI ไท • PU ปู • PU PLA RAH ปู ปลาร้า • TUM SUA ตำซั่ว
Green papaya with garlic, chilli, tomato, green been, dried shrimp, and peanut, lime juice, palm sugar with seafood

You can always tell the waitress to make all the dish very Thai for you. Most of thai food in Australia is a bit too sweet to meet satisfaction from its market. If you can handle the spiciness, you can let them know and the chef are more than happy to adjust it accordingly.

25. YUM HUA PLEE ยำหัวปลี $13.90

Banana flower with chicken, prawn, shallot, coriander, onion, dried coconut, cashew nut, fried shallot, chili jam with chef’s dressing.

If you not sure what banana flower is?
Here is a picture for your reference.

Home is one of very few places makes banana flower salad, considering the cost and availability of banana flower. it has a mild sweet taste contrast with strong flavor from the sauce and other ingredient. It's quite an exotic and interest dish.

5. MOO PING หมูปิ้ง (EACH) $2.00

Skewed pork neck marinated in herbs sauce served with chef’s sauce
If you have not tried north-east Thai food, you must try number 10 on the menu.

10. SAI GROOG ISAN ไส้กรอกอีสาน $10.90

A homemade Thai sausage traditionally from eastern part of Thailand grilled and served with fresh ginger and vegetable

As far as I know, there is no booking in Home Thai. So my recommendation will be go there early and get a token number first form the waitress.

Bar Fresh - Sydney City

0
Where to have lunch? ?
That is properly the most frequent questions asked for those who works in the city. It is a great place to catch up with friends or grab something quick after a corporate run. Especially if you are very health conscious, on diet, having certain food allergies, or pregnant, I recommend Bar Fresh.
I heard this place is one of fitness trainer's favorite.

Bar Fresh still offers plenty of sitting, even though most of the customers are up and go typical city type. So if you are coming with you friends, should be able to grab a sit without waiting.

First thing you should know in Bar Fresh is all bread rolls are FREE for anything salad or soup you order!! You have several choices depends on the day. How awesome is that!!
In winter, everyday they have a special soup menu.

Healthy snacks

homemade bakeries and wraps

I was so impressed by the presentation and qualities of the wraps. Some wraps around city areas are total disgrace! (you know what I am talking about right citysiders?^^) Over Bar Fresh, food are freshly prepared with generous potion.

How it works here is very similar like Sumo Salad, so you can custom made you own salad.

The menu is quite straightforward to follow.

All salad are coming in a small box - you have to come and try the freshness of their salad.

For not very healthy person like me, they do have options of different burger.
My grilled chicken fillet is very lean and tasty, I promise there are no excess oil on it at all. (super healthy!) A lot of vegetable are added in the burger with melted cheese and mayo.
It's definitely a filling but not too guilty lunch treat.

You can see how fresh are the cucumbers, must be shredded on the spot.

Check out the place if you are at nearby offices!

Red Spoon Thai -Top Ryde * recommend*

0
Red Spoon located at the new Top Ryde shopping mall, and it's a total buzz in the nearby suburb.
Thanks to their boss, finally in inner west we have some decent Thai food.
They have lunch and dinner setting.

The restaurant is well decorated and have indoor and outdoor sitting area.

Inside of the restaurant is divided to normal sitting and private area.
At the back of the menu, Red Spoon offers well balanced banquet, perfect for birthdays or other event. Please make sure you book the large table, the restaurant can get quite busy even during week days.
There is a bar where you can get normal drinks, cocktails or coffee. (pretty well covered all customer range)

Thai influence is well present in the restaurant.

Modern open kitchen

First Stop, Pad Thai
This is normal practice for me. If I visit a Thai restaurant for the first time, I will definitely order Pad Thai. If they even can't get Pad Thai right, there is no point for return visit.

Well balanced sweet and sourness in Pad Thai with generous king prawns. Gorgeous presentation with layer of banana leaves at the bottom, brings me back to Thailand. ^^ Yum!

Kra Prow - Stir Fried Chili Basil with meat
I love they went through all the trouble to deep fried crispy basil on the top of the meal. Kra Pow is a signature thai dish, you could properly find in every single eateries in Thailand. It's a soy sauced based stir fried with basil and vegetable. Very tasty and spicy!

In a mood for spicy food? chili flakes are available.
